Code freeze for Drupal 8 is July 1, 2013, which means we'll start the bugfixing and performance improvement phase of Drupal 8’s development as it nears release at the start of 2014.
This session will give a brief overview of some of the new features of Drupal, focusing on those related to front-end development, the Twig Initiative and the Drupal 8 Mobile Initiative.
- Responsive images
- New administrative toolbar
- Responsive admin pages
- Responsive themes
- Twig engine
Then we'll take a look at how you can help improve Drupal’s CSS and HTML before Drupal 8 is released. The Twig Initiative has a plan to re-write all of Drupal’s HTML templates, while the Mobile Initiative has a plan to re-write Drupal’s CSS using modern design component and SMACSS concepts.
Come see the new things in Drupal 8 and how easy it is to help out!
